Linwood Roberts was born in Buffalo, New York, but moved to New York City as a pre-teen. He is a former U.S. Marine who served honorably and with high merit, earning an honorable discharge in 1996. Linwood then went on to earn a B.S. in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens (1999).   Linwood returned to Buffalo in 2003 to attend Law School, earning a JD degree in 2006 and a Masters Degree (L.L.M.) in 2010.

After working behind the scenes in the UB Office of Community Relations for a year, Linwood decided to forgo lucrative opportunities in the legal profession to help UB make a positive difference in his hometown of Buffalo, New York.  In January 2016, Linwood was reassigned to the School of Dental Medicine (SDM) to better align outreach efforts with the needs of underserved communities in Erie County,  as well as to improve diversity and inclusion amongst the SDM faculty, staff and student population.  

Linwood is an attorney practicing in the areas of criminal law, real estate, corporations and trusts and estates. Linwood’s biggest accomplishments to date, is being a proud father of his two daughters: Sasha Lynn (17) and Eva Brooklin Roberts (5) and expecting another daughter in November!
