We are entering this fall season in the midst of a stormy time for our Country. While many members of our community are suffering loss and uncertainty as they face the effects of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, our nation is also facing a number of social and political storms that directly impact the mission of our organization.

Since January, we have been confronted with attacks on access to affordable healthcare, immigration and the rights of members of the most marginalized members of our community. In addition, we have seen displays of white supremacy, Neo-Nazism and a leadership that has failed to directly and unequivocally disavow such ideals. This storm has seemed to directly undermine the MBAWNY’s goals of advancing equality and aiding in the progress of minorities within our community. However, we are also reminded that the goals of our organization are of great significance, now more than ever. Thus, we will weather this storm and continue to persist in the face of adversity.

With this in mind, we cordially invite you to attend the MBAWNY’s Inaugural Fall Brunch on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at The Oakk Room, 1435 Main St, Buffalo, NY 14209 at 11:00 a.m. The purpose of this brunch is to celebrate diversity in legal careers through fellowship and award recognition. In addition, we will be raising funds to support the mission of the MBAWNY. We will also be donating a portion of our proceeds to assist members of marginalized communities who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Tickets are $18 per person and may be purchased here, via Eventbrite. For RSVP purposes, please purchase your tickets prior to September 28, 2017. Tickets (cash only) may also be purchased at the door. If you intend on purchasing your ticket at the door please send your RSVP to todunsi1@gmail.com by September 28, 2017.

In the unfortunate event that you are unable to attend our Brunch, please consider donating by selecting the “Donate” option after following the Eventbrite link.
